Re-registering a UK regd vehicle in France..
I have a mate asking a question for someone who wants to register his vehicle in France as he now lives there and can drive it on UK plates only until May then hes got to sort it out, is it difficult? he has been asked for a certificate of conformity ,where would you obtain that for a start? cheers

I dunno about GB -> F, but t'other way round the CoC is only needed if the car is <10yo. Over that age, an MOT is all that's needed.

I think you need to get in touch with the vehicle manufacturer to get a CoC and they will probably charge. Never done it myself though.

I did it, it's not hard, the place to start is his local Prefecture, they'll tell him everything he needs to know and the paperwork needed. For CofC it's Citroen UK, they may charge, or his local DRIRE who will charge less.
Tell him to take it slow, take all the paperwork and do what the bureaucrats say and ignore 95% of ex-pat advice.
