There's at least 2 here that list 'paint mixing' in Norwich that might be of help

Oh lovely, thanks for that :)

For best anti-rust, I've been cutting back rusty bits to bare metal, then carefully brushing on a bit of Kurust and letting it dry, then spraying zinc undercoat (eg Zinc 182) on top. A few coats of that, letting it all dry nice and slow, then a quick rub down, then top coat from the paint factor shop (£5 or so per 500ml). Job's a goodun. So long as it keeps the rust away I'm not too bothered about having a pristine paint job. That can wait for when I have enough time to strip down the car and renovate it properly (ie never!).

Completely agree, exactly what I've done.

I got three spraycans of a colour that's not exactly common mixed up while I waited last night for £12 a can. That seemed expensive to me! Any decent local motor factor will be able to do this for you, or halfords.

FFS Justin, Don't you have Yellow Pages in Norwich? Alternatively go to a body shop and ask where they get their paint from locally. Or Google 'Paint Factors + Norwich'.

Whoa there, Justin's just asking for a bit of advice (which AFAIK is one of the ideas of such a forum) so I think an aggressive reply like that is out of order!

Chill out for crying out loud! :(

Yes Wilco is a good answer, and I failed to notice they did paint factors, often go there for bits and bobs. I am a bit new to this doing up cars yourself, always paid a bloke to do it in the past

Absolutely no idea how good they are - ie: quality of paint or colour match, etc. - but they will make up paint based on your car's colour code.

Very reasonable, I think, but I haven't actually tried them - yet.

Yes, advice was already given wasn't it but surely expecting someone to look something up in Yellow Pages isn't too much trouble? Perhaps it is? It's not 'aggression' BTW just expecting people to think for themselves. Sorry I bothered in the first place. Good grief.
