Any extra advice on how to repair these?

I'm sick of filler so the repairers are gonna stick new metal in, but how high up should they go?

The rear quarters were always ok until the first time I was hit. They repaired and cracked a year later. Had them 'repaired' by a local body shop who ended up being total cowboys so I really want to make sure its done properly. The last shunt really enlarged the cracks so I'm guessing there's ayers of filler

These panels are good repair panels but can be a little difficult to fit. They are not original but better than replacing the complete panel. The folded face is around 255 mm long. Fitted many without any problems.

If you have plenty of rust around the little triangle window, you might as well do this panel. It is nearly the same job and you get rid of the rust

I've had both sides done with these panels and had the boot floor and rear lamp panel replaced, at the same time....Along with the windscreen surround, A-panels, A-posts, C-posts....et al. Think most people would of scrapped the shell, but I payed to save it

Exactly - no such thing as 'too rusty'

My rear window franes are ok, might go with the smaller panels then.

Should they be welded or brazed?

I had my car restored by Peter Cross, at Tibberton,Worcester. He has a genuine spot-welder and that was used(no distortion of thin metal). If you were nearer, I'd recommend him to do your car.

I think its fair to say that pretty much ALL of us here have saved cars that were beyond economic repair. Its part of what we do and cos' we love em
