I used to be insured with CSMA/Frizzell. It might be worth trying them for a quote as, I think, non-civil servants are eligible for membership if a close family member (i.e. your mum:)) is already a member.

yeah I think you have to be a member of CSMA (as a family member) to qualify for their cheap insurance.

So, my mates's with Footman James, although he's not (yet) a 2cver... I'm working on that ;)

He's 20 (as of yesterday) drives an '88 Reliant Scimitar SS1, 1.3L, 2 door roadster. It looks a bit like this one:

Its quite a nice one, galvanised chassis, decent hood. Plastic bodywork looks nice. Cost him about £1300.

Sadly, last week, he was hit from behind by a taxi driver and its badly bent the sub-frame to the extent that the plastic body hits the wheels.

Footman James were great, immediately appreciating that he wasn't able to use his car, couldnt get to work and would therefore need a rental car, the cost of which will eventually be reclaimed from the third party.

Footman James apparantly offer a "like-for-like" scheme with rental cars, so 24 hours after the accident, his "like-for-like" 2 door roadster rental vehicle was delivered to his door. It looks like this:

and yes, it's a late '07 Mx-5, 1.8 :o

Now that's service!
