...and another. This one's from the famous 10-minute tracking shot used in the 1967 film "Weekend".

Hmm, I'm on a roll today!!

Here's possibly the coolest 2CV pic of all, IMHO. It ticks almost all the boxes: France, Paris, 1959, Nouvelle Vague movie director (Truffaut, in this case), geezer with cool haircut, cool moustache (rare indeed!), insolent cigarette angle, silk scarf, black and white photo, big F-off film camera. Oh, and a clapperboard. The only thing missing is Jean Seabourg, or Anna Karina, or Jeanne Moreau etc etc.

In reply to the caption on the RN pick-ups. It's a well known fact that almost all of the 2cv pick-ups were pushed overboard, into the Indian Ocean and replaced by Land Rovers(the RN had taken possession of helicopters that could lift Landies).

I've heard that it's a little known fact that this never happened.

Erm... It's interesting, if you're into late 60's politics (Maoism, Paris 68 etc) and film aesthetics blah-blah-blah. But if you're not into that type of stuff you'll think it's a pile of boring intellectual w*nk! It's almost unendurable in that it's full of things that are designed to alienate you from the traditional idea of film as entertainment. But it is interesting... and the tracking shot is very funny. That said, watch clips of it on YouTube (the whole of the tracking shot is on there), and there's a very rude description at the beginning.

Re pix link posted by Dago. I think I'll invent a name for that type of gallery: Banger porn!
