Post Re: Rat-look Citroens
I did enjoy the bar/disco 2cv that I saw in Sweden, maybe it could be like a set? 2cv for the bar and CD decks with a dancefloor and podium on an H-van! Then I'd like to see them get us to settle down after the bars close!! :-)

Rat-look, yes, in some rare cases it looks ok but...its untidy, rusty and gives the image of an unloved car.

At a VW event I went to, I went in the GS, sat it down in the grass and I had people telling me how rare and how good it looks rat-look. F*** off, rat-look, NO, its in original condition awating restoring. It looks even more nasty on cars trying for this "euro look". Lower it on the stops, stupidly wide and small wheels and a rusty bonnet or something...

Im not for the concours look either, its a bit too anarak'y but to have a car that looks like its been pulled out the sea just isnt good, a nice inbetween, personal touches with signs of its age is good.

(i know its not the finest example of a Citroen GS but, it aint rat-look for sure)

I quite like the Eurorat look and I like rat look cars like you I'm not a fan of concours polished to within an inch of it's life car. What are they on about your GS being rat look I like your GS and I don't think it's rat look. I wouldn't turn a 2cv rat look unless it was turned into rat look naturaly. :)

I find it boring, overdone somewhat. And when it looks too done, like pictures/words in the rust... nah.

But having said all that, I'm sure we all agree that nobody expects anyone to make a car to please anyone but themselves! ;)

i dont mind either tbh, rat/used look i do like, but they take more looking after than a shiny one
see my van will stay just used,

my old ami was used,

but i do fancy a red oxide with a matt lacquer paint scheme on a motor soon, or maybe like some splitties now a sanded to bare metal finish

When it is original, like 2cv´s from 50´s are, it is ok. When it is done, rust i mean, no for me.
