Post Inspire me: Rear bumpers...
Hello international2cv friends,

In light of the fact I am now one 2cv less than I started the day with, I should really start cracking on with the ones I have left (I've been saying this for a while now). This is a picture of the back of my 2CV:

Here's another one:

And one more, so you get the idea...

As you can see, the bumper is a bit past it now, my question to you is this; What do you think would look cool instead? Should i leave the bumper off completely? Should I make a tubular affair? Should i stick to the one I have and wait for it to fall off completely? Have you any ideas? I'd like to do something a bit different....

I'm not bothered about 'exposure to bad drivers' as even when I had a new bumper fitted, the back panel, rear lights, bootlid etc all took a pasting when the car was hit!

few ideas:

Or what about an Ami6 bumper instead?

Mini clubman front?

Ah, if only you had easy access to steel tube, tube bending kit, and welding facilities - you could knock up a superb tube bumper...

In an alleyway behind my house someone has dumped a children's trampoline. I think a section of the frame would make an ideal tubular bumper.

I'm planning to remove the front bumper (and possibly the back) and have obtained a couple of pairs of chrome overriders on ebay to fit instead. They were from an old Ford of some description. All part of my wife's cunning plan for a makeover...

I had a Triumph GT6 a long time ago where I did something similar - chrome bumper removed, overriders painted graphite black and refitted - looked like a pair of fangs either side of that gaping mouth.
