Re: AZL 1957
I am sorry you sold the ivory one. But you are right, it is no use to keep them locked away and not drive them.

Re: AZL 1957
We did get the green one from it's place. First it didn't want to. Sticking brake. Than i tried the manual fuelpump....nothing... i checked the dipstick in the tank... les than 2 litres so the pump won't be very able in bringing it up.... Postive thing the fuel didn't smell bad. Just got a new battery for it... will try again later.

Re: AZL 1957
New story with the ivory one. The new owner came to me to compare something in the clutch assembly with my green 57. We drove of and at the first corner i told him i smeel petrol. So we stopped. The fuel filter was coming loose. So we stuck it in again and drove of 1 kilometer further car starts spluttering and it died. So check again. Now the two ends of the filter tube broke off. No tools but my swiss army knive. First problem to get the broken plusitc pipes out of the hoses. Took 15 minutes. I did see that the thick part of the stapped fuelfilter pipes was still ok. So we managed to get it forced in the hoses and on the raod again we were...

Re: AZL 1957
Replaced a blocking master brake cylinder in a friends 2cv6. Took it apart today. It was filled with a lot of black sludge. The rear rubber was rather desintegrated. I think someone dit fill up with DOT braking fluid instead of LHM once???

Re: AZL 1957
At last had some time to look at the 57. Put in a new fuelpump (nice birthday present). 5 liters of fresh fuel in the tank and after 3 three goes it fired up. When i shut the choke off it was running idle so slow it sounded like an old barge diesel... Than i found this very early 2cv booklet in france. It was the 1951 edtion with just the 9HP 2cv mentioned in it. Rather rare...

Re: AZL 1957
My blue one was loosing air in one front tyre.... Took the wheel of and did a check with soap. And yes the valve kept leaking. So tried to fill it up but both my fillergauges didn't give any pressure when mounted??? So put in anonther valve, same problem. Put in a third valve...a little better but sill leaking. Put the valve cap on that stopped the leaking. But that is not a repair... So i took it to the tyre shop...they tested no leak... but he did put in a new valve to be sure. Tyre keeps pressure now. But for all my troubles got a finger squeezed between the jack lever, and my shirt and pants smeared with nice black grease from the wheel pivots that was inside the wheelrim...
