Hi Ivan,

As Russell says we've been looking forward to the day when we had an active South American on the forum - i am & i'm sure others will be interested to learn more about 3cv's and how they differ from the models we are familiar with.

Hear hear!

Welcome Ivan.

Hi all,
A quick introduction. I'm Richard, and Adrian C introduced the forum to me when I commented on the amazingly detailed 2CV images he started using on his CCC site sig. I am a member of 2CVGB, the CCC and the X1/9 owners club, and the current 2CV is a blue céleste spécial (with GS pallas wheel trims, rear mudflaps and a navy roof; if Max has time for a bespoke signature image :?: ). I also organise the Thames Tortoises local 2CV group, which is the reason for the avatar.

I bought a sticker at Registers Day which hasn't been rained on yet, so no sign of smudging!

Congratulations on the forum so far.
Richard

Good Afternoon my SillyCV chums!

So you may have seen some lurking on the Flea Market thread. I've not actually bought one yet, but it seems inevitable. Having had beetles and campers in the past (still keeping my beloved Bay), I need a cheap, cool, fun, individual form of transport. Enter my first 2cv!

Having been to registers day twice, one national and the World Meeting in Borlange, I've always had one thing missing - a citroen!

I'm not getting one until I leave this current job, but I've got an interview for the best job in the world at the beginning of September and I think I might just get it.

Just for good measure - my opinions to set you all off - the Beachcomber is the best edition ever, I don't understand the point in Lomax, the French made the best civilian car and the Germans the best utility motor, Mehari's rock but will never be practical and I don't like the look of the square headlamp! Right - sink your teeth into that little lot (just teasing!)

Cheers!

I've known two gay couple drive beachcombers.

Square headlamps are the law.

Meharis are practical, they make superb pond liners.

You're bang on about lomaxes, all terrible. (IMO)

French best utility and German best civilian. (2CV and Mercedes W123)

(Also just teasing ;) )
