   |   Re: '85 Charleston After I'd finished servicing it, Daisy washed it. First time I've ever seen her clean a car and the first time it's been washed since 2013 just before our French trip when I waxed it.

   |   Re: '85 Charleston P1030262 by Robndaisy , on Flickr Uh Oh, looks like my servicing schedhule's slipped. P1030239 by Robndaisy , on Flickr The cylinder's seized, shoes are seized and the bottom studs holding the eccentric adjusters sheared despite my best intentions, (I'll have to get creative to fix those). Time to remove the rear crossmember and sort out the bearings. First time I've opened all this up since buying the car in 2010. On the plus side, all the snail shoe adjusters work perfectly . P1030233 by Robndaisy , on Flickr Argh! the pipe union bolt to the wheel cylinder has corroded to nothing and seized to the copper nickel pipes on both sides. That means two new spiral brake pipes and we all know what fun they are to fit . Funny thing is, the car braked perfectly as far as I was concerned, not twitchy at all, strange that

   |   Re: '85 CharlestonMaybe an option, pull the spirals out a bit and fix the bracket a bit further down the pipe. With a flaring tool refit the bolt? A lot af penetrating oil might help to loosen the nut. Not wd40 but the real stuff. I have sometimes succes with taking the nut firmly in a grip-vise and tap that with a hammer.
