Long list of things to do for MOT.
The car has been standing since last July.
First item, rear pads, they wear vey quickly compared to the front.

New Brake pads all round.
Seems they wear out at very different rates, some down to the metal, some half-worn, the effects of off-roading?
Greased, cleaned, oiled, WD40, and the last to do is the hard part....change Engine and gear Oils.

As a hoarder shall keep as spares :D

Shetland has been getting gorgeous weather for weeks now. Haven't seen proper rain since the first half of April, just the odd day of drizzle. Been trying to get more use of the 2CV over the past few days. Yesterday (Monday) I used it to travel the 4 miles to work. Hood fully open, of course. No rain in the forecast for the next week, so lots more use is envisaged.

Did drive it to my friend from the oldtimer garage in germany. Did adjust the carbsetting with the right equipment. Changed a breather hose and the fuel filter. The breather hose was a bit tired after 33 years of use
Also did put in new hot air evacuating hoses through the wings. Did put in rubber mehari versions instead of the paper ones that always rip of. The mehari ones are made of rubber have a great fit. Helped them with restarting the oilpump of their new old citroen 5hp pick-up truck..

New ECAS oil filler mounted, valves adjusted, Burton exhaust clamps mounted.
What a difference.
Haven't driven the car yet, but the way the engine idles …

I'll try to ad a movie.
This is ten secs of idling:

Checking all the last few items for the MOT.
Discovered the fuel tank is leaking!!!!.
Going to fit a "Red plastic boat tank" in the boot area.

Will that be OK for an MOT?
