After making a 250-mile round trip to Andover a couple of weekends ago to watch / listen to the newly-fitted Chevrolet V8 engine being started up, today I drove the relatively short journey (90 miles) out in the snow to Shakespeare County Raceway to support my friends with their Nostalgia Drag Racing 1949 Ford Prefect
Despite sitting next to a vehicle with each cylinder bigger than an Ami Super engine, the little van had lots of attention 8-)

Went to Rugby and Coventry yesterday in the Ami and despite my accusations that an M4 is slow, pulled 70mph down the M69

Put on a pair of newly bought good condition heat exchange exhaust sections. Much better.
I also checked the torque on the recently replaced cylinder head, it needed a tweak. Since then I haven't noticed the occasional slight whiff of fumes I'd been noticing, if the heater was on. Time will tell.
Poked a bit at the pushrod seal spring to encourage a better seal. There's a drip been happening. Time will tell on that too.

Those heater boxes have transformed my heater output. I'm chuffed.

Been driving it around a lot the last few days and it's been such a pleasure to use.

Sunday - 16 of us, a mix of 2CVs, Dyanes, Meharis, a Traction, Acad, and an Ami went to the motor museum at Bourton.

^ That looks brilliant there.

Today I changed the oil again. I did it probably about 100 miles ago or something, I was going to do it again so as to treat one as a flush.

Also fine tuned the heater controls so its pretty spot on.
