Well, after what seems like about three weeks of faff, the rear sweep is fully rustproofed, inner wings too and boot floor. I've filled in the big hole that was under the rear quarter window. Recreated the bottom end/edge of the sweep with filler. And painted the sweep with rattle cans from Ecas.
I must say, the match of colour was much better than I expected, its not bad.

This is the biggest part of a car I've tried to spray with cans, and I have even more respect for people who have painting skills now. Its bloody hard! It sagged and ran etc. Plenty of eggshell effect. Still it looks so much better than before, I doubt anyone will notice but me.

That rusty window lip is a bother though. I've ground away the rust and treated it with really good stuff, but wont be as water tight as it should be. I was going to slap the window back in but can decide what I might be able to do about the lip bit. Hmm.

Its so nice to have her looking purdy again, polished it hard all over too. My arms hurt after all that though.. :)

had to scratch ice twice last night and this morning. With the very small demister of the 57 it was a bit tricky driving condensed windscreen with headlights up front and the upcoming sun this morning...
But it copes well with the cold, starts direct. Only speedocable gets noisy have to oil it again. ;-)

Ecas used to do a little fan to put in the heater tubes, I always thought that was a great idea.
Probably only 12v too though.
