Re: A Tale Of Two CeeVees.
Hi Geo. I have to say that one of my main regrets during the ownership of my Marlin for the past 4 years was not managing to get to any of the meets. They have an excellent club of which I was a member (still am, until it expires...), but they were always just a tad too far away or else it clashed with other commitments - did I mention the two kids...? I think that might change now - especially as the kids would love to come too

Ah, Bognor R? I know it well - my wife went to teach-training college there...
So, do you have a 2CV ready for when you pass?!

Hi Geo. The 'grass' looks fab! Really looks as tho' it belongs in there! Was this your own idea? If so, respect...

It might not justify a full "restoration", but don't do short term bodges like glassing instead of welding - please! Certainly not to anywhere important...

Re: A Tale Of Two CeeVees.
Hi tm2cvs.
Absolutely! The car is actually very solid structurally - new galv chassis, floorpan, wings, front bulkhead etc. Also, the rear inner arches have been plated and welded where the belt anchorages are.
The rust to be 'glassed' is absolutely minor - bottoms of some doors, and little bits around rear hatch, etc. Just not worth cutting out and welding in.
And, it will be done neatly! I really intend this car to be completely de-rusted, and then protected from further attack to within an inch of its life...
(And it will be declared when the time finally comes in the distant future to sell her on...)

Just finding some better doors is probably easier. Do you mean the bottom ends of the rear sweeps by "around rear hatch"? If so, then that's a definite "do properly".

Re: A Tale Of Two CeeVees.
New doors would probably make more sense right enough, tm2cvs. I'll probably see how it goes - I do like 'fixing' stuff rather than replacing if possible - it's in my blood (ex-technology teacher...). I do intend it to be a 'good' job, and I also plan to keep this car.
Yes, I do mean around the bottom corners of the rear hatch - they aren't holed right through, but are bubbling (so probably holed right through...). Why is this a 'do properly' - is it 'structural' in any important way?
Many thanks - I value your comments and input.
