Still suffering with hot starting issues, and it seems to be getting worse. Car's booked in on Thursday to have the tappets adjusted. Fingers crossed that that will cure the problem.

If you can hear them, they're probably OK... ;)

That's the problem, I can't hear them. Been told the engine is the quietest 2CV engine in existence. Lol! I've done a coil swap without any improvement.

Took the 2CV for a drive out towards Stratford this afternoon, hood fully open. On the return I dropped it round to Peter Cross so he can get to work on the tappets first thing tomorrow morning when the engine will be properly cold. Should be ready to collect around 11am. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the hot starting problems will be a thing of the past.

Jonathan it will only be a thing of the past for as long as the tappets don't require an adjustment

I check and adjust mine as necessary every oil change. Sometimes, they need adjusting

Well they needed a little adjustment, but not much. Unfortunately, it hasn't made a scrap of difference. I've run the car till hot, knocked the engine off, waited 5/10 minutes and turned the key.... Still refusing to start on the button. It starts with half a turn of the starter when cold. I've chucked on another (old) set of HT leads and another (old) coil, but no difference. It has brand new NGK plugs, a brand new fuel line from tank to carb, and a brand new starter motor. They've all helped with cold starting (actually transformed the bloody thing), but still plagued by hot starting issues. :x Next step is to remove the grill muff and try it.
