Wiped Gerty all over lovingly with old engine oil to preserve the rusty finish - practiced for years on women using baby oil to perfect this technique...

took the manifold off, to be able to work on the carb, and to take off the air ducts and heat exchangers, to see where the oil leak comes from...

Took the 123 off Gerty and put points back, she appeared to start on both cylinders and felt 'lively' (if you can say that about a 425 with terminal compression failiure); tomorrow I will find out if she starts from cold on both... :?

It HAS been done properly.
When we took of the old frame, the only part not rusted was behind the hinge.
So I removed paint from the new frame, took of the hinge (there were allready rust behind the hinge), got it galvanized, and rivetted it on with sealant between hinge and frame..
NO welding!

Airplanes are rivetted as well!
Old fart!
