I went to my local welding supplies shop this morning and was feeling saucy.

It was a mega bargain and now I can start making stuff in the garage.

Oh, and aside from the floor paint and wiring the lights over the bench, my garage is pretty much finished ready for the 2cv to come home to.

Thanks, it was worth the effort doing the garage, I feel very lucky to have that space. Can't wait to get a bottle of gas and start tripping the electric out. Out if interest, what are these migs worth?

Worth what you're willing to pay for it, isn't that the line? Mine's a 200, I paid about 330 for it privately on eBay auction. So far the electric has been okay with a 20 amp trip, but I've heard you can need a different type for welders, one that trips slower, as they initially draw a higher current for a short time when you first pull the trigger. I won't comment on whether the fuse in the 13amp plug has been replaced with a piece of copper pipe.

That's interesting, I will have to look into it a bit more. I can't wait to get the floor done and get the chassis in there.

If Joolz isn't interested I may well be.
