Post Help Headlights won't work on dip
Hi thanks for the help last week on bad egg smell. It turns out I needed a new voltage regulator the battery was being fried. However the healights now won't work on dip. I have replaced all the bulbs, the back lights side lights and everthing else works. Full beam works but if I put on dip no headlights. Any ideas please ;)

Could be your stalk - try wobbling it around and see if they come on then - also check the screws that hold the cables on to the stalk .....I cant remember if there is a relay in the dip circuit but if so that could be faulty....SSD

If your car is a late model 2cv (post 86), a likely reason is the dim-dip relay(you'll have two relays on the bulkhead next to the battery, it's one of those). The general consensus is that the dim-dip system should be binned(it's a cause of much grief).

Do a 'Search' for the dim-dip issue. Ken's accurately described what to do to modify the system, and what to chuck away. I followed his tip and everything works fine.

 I nearly posted a thread on this myself.

I'm on my third lights switch this year (broke first one, connections died on second)
I've binned the whole dim-dip thing
All my bulbs are frin.

However I have intermittant dip beam.

Turn engine on, flick from high to low beam... nothing... wait a few secs... and dip beam comes on :?

Sometimes i think going over a bump helps turn them on, however I may be imagining this.

Any ideas :?:

mine did this when the contacts wore out on the barrel in the switch. but might be worth checking the connections on the light bar. as my lights flickered a bit until i cleaned all the contacts up a bit. oh and re-connected an earth wire too ha
