there's also the possibility (or should that be probablity?) of the plunging splines locking up under very high torque, which is a weakness of the design.

Been looking back through the pictures u have taken, but cant find any of the top of gear stick thingy!! was looking to c how u have sorted ya gear linkage?

Was looking at using the same sort of linkage/fitting that u have used on the track rod end!!

Hi Matt, the gear stick 'thingy' on my car is LNA type, so wider than the GS/A and with a rubber bush. It's been changed a couple of times for the different boxes, and the lower bits are just left overs that I haven't cut off.

When I first put the box in I made up a simple extension bracket which bolted to the gear selector lever and allowed me to use the standard change mechanism.

No, but it does come through the bulkhead below the parcel shelf.

So have you retained the original position of the gear stick then or changed that aswell...
Got any pics of that Part aswell, (not that I am trying to pinch any off ya ideas like)

The gear knob is still in about the original position, but the mechanism is all a one-off. I've not got a picture of it at the moment except this teaser by Pete Mcflurry of this forum.
