Mwah, just a logo. Will be quite a big one.. maybe Citroen beneath it.

Painting it with a roller. Some photo from the already painted panels can be found here:

started today, so the ami wont be on the road for a few days/weeks..

First job is the roof, the biggest part that needs painting ;)
Start sanding at the front and worken to the back of the car.
Once at the back, I discoverd some corrosion at the point where the roof and the metal strip that lays over the roof/body seam.
Took the metal strip away and discovered that the roof was only held on the body with 2 of the 6 pop rivets that need to be there.

This is how it looked when I removed the strip.

Old glue, which just was loose between the body and roof.

Sanded body and roof seam with some scoth brite, to make sure the new glue would attach good to the roof.
Filed the holes for the rivets a little bigger, so the new rivets fit. after that I sprayed some tectyl on the two parts.

Glued and riveted the roof back in place. To prevent water getting between the two parts, I put some outdoor sealant on the seam.

Then started painting:

This part will get coverd with the metal strip. Strip is painted black on the inside, and blue on the outside.

Put some yellow paint on the car yesterday, after some sanding (passengerside rear door needed some bondo) and after closing some holes at the bottom of the windscreen surround with sealant

Took the front fenders and hood off the car, since I already got some painted panels in the garage (for over a year now)..
Inner rear fender on the left side, was just as the one on the right in a good condition. Cleaned it, and put some tectyl 190 base coat.. it will get some underseal when the fenders get back on the car.

Drivers door upper hinge will need some welding in the near future. I spotted a small crack on the hinge.. :(

And some pics:

windowframe will look better, eventually ;)

I like it! Certainly brightens it up. Hopefully it will stop people driving into it now. Looking forward to seeing it at spa.

only the front needs some paint, but that will be done next spring

Some small work from yesterday: logo and moulding on the bootlid
Image

Today the rest of the moulding, some small other things and started the car for the first time since I started painting..
Only the front needs to be done, only in which colour..
Yellow would be the best option, but need to put 3 layers on it before it looks good.. blue will be done with two layers.
