Not one, but two G reg red Specials spotted whilst out on my bike in the Peak District yesterday. The first was driving south through Darley Dale, and the other one was going north, near Hope.

Oh I see, that'll be why then, do you go escargots or le club cleauseau or neither? I was hoping to go le club tonight around the corner but my immune system is very low after treatment which makes it easy to pick up infection so I think I may go next month instead.

If that's @ me Two Chevrons, yes Clouseau but meeting is next Monday not tonight. Only managed Escargots occasionally, much more frequently @ Puddleducks who meet @ the Yew Tree on Hayling which is almost on your doorstep. Sadly missing both those this month as doing Tan Hill - which could be a mistake... :|
Half of us seem to have the lurgy @ the mo so if u are @ risk prob. best give it a miss.

BBC's "Speed Dreams: The Fastest Place on Earth" featured geezers all over the UK who were building motorbikes to race on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA. One of these old boys also had a 2CV that he'd chopped into a dragster capable of doing about 150mph. Had dials out of Lancaster bombers and Spitfires and stuff. Don't think he was using a 602 engine!

The programme is available on iPlayer until 13 Jan, but if you blink you'll miss the 2CV (featured at around 31mins).

That was on Snail, I think. Wasn't it Daimler powered, or something?

I spotted this very cool Rouge Castille Special (just like my old one) in Sheffield on Saturday. Ratty but sound, with CND stickers & parked in a student area - it could have been the 1980s!
