Another 300 + miles on Christmas day and Boxing day.

Despite what must have been the worst rain I have driven in for a very long time.

The Acad deserves a little pat on the bonnet for all the hard work.

Being rear ended by some myopic moron is an all to common accident ( well lets face it it ain't an accident in my book) The question was raised why do people look right as they come to a junction or island and not where they are going? Simples that's where the gap in the traffic will be, so lets look for one to rocket into!!There is also a strange phenomena that causes drives to not look at a lane they are about to cross as they turn right, why look at that lane because I want that gap in the traffic from my left? Then why is that other road user crashing into my drivers side? Or worse what's that cyclist or motorcyclist doing bleeding all over my bonnet? These I guess are the same drivers that look all round their car wondering where those two tones are coming from :-)

I drove to Christmas Common today...

Does that count for Christmas miles?

Was thinking of going to that run out, but got up far too late (twenty past nine). See as I had to be at the start point at Runnymede for half nine, I thought it hardly likely I'd get there in time (about 120 mile drive).

I started late as well but being only 10 miles from Christmas Common I just drove to where they were meeting.

When I came home I was on 87200 and something, I've now just passed 900. so 700 odd miles in a week and a half. When I told my mate (who since October has done about 2000 miles in a corsa) that I'd done 28k in less than two years in the 2cv he didn't believe me at first. I'm sure people have done loads more than that in a single year though? What's the highest mileage anyone has done in an A series over a year?

I can say what I've done since buying the car in April 2002. When I bought it it had 70,100 miles, it's now just under 224,000 miles. That's 154,000 in less than 11 years. The first couple of years the 2CV was my only car and racked up about 20,000pa, but now it's used for holidays and pootling about.
