so tell me plese mr Bugster In the absense of having an owners manual what way do I pull the lever under the dash to get the hot air to clear the windscreen

Knob pulled out (so to speak) and unlike your rear engined, air cooled (and heated) teutonic, poached eggs you will be greeted by a blast of piping hot air to the screen.

Well that's what folk told me before I bought one. :)

Fantastic information , I doff my imaginary hat to you Cheers :D
The change has brought on all sorts of dilemmas though When to Muff Or not to Muff etc  I know its not yet muffing season, as it is currently tennative halfway roof between showers season (Or English summer as some call it )

Today i have been chasing a hot starting fault. Amongst other things I have changed the Coil (for another second hand one i found whilst out and about amongst a few spare parts and cars i am negotiating on aquiring at the moment... more on that in due course if any of you are interested?)

Think that has got it sort of licked as it starts better but not perfectly from how.
The jury is still out on that one.
D*lly stripes are gone and more is in grey primer.
