Would be nice to even be able to log onto the 2CVGB website or forum as a recent new member to both here and 2CVGB joined at the National (which was two weeks ago now) and received nothing either in the post or by e-mail! Does it really take that long to process new memberships!!!?

Well it's not quite two weeks & the membership secretary post, as with all 2CVGB commmittee posts are filled by unpaid volunteers who, in the main, have full-time jobs & family duties to attend to... ;)

Thank you Anna, and apologies as I still haven't emailed you the photos you asked for.

Without desending into 2cvGB bashing, It's a shame that those 250 users of the club forum are *quite* so actIve, for it is they, or rather their online personalities/attitudes that put me off.

Back to the point - I'm up for really pushing the website Anna - we can work on promoting it through the mag together :)

Not you - your 'chatter:content' ratio is significantly lower than others!

Sean - fancy making some M4 oil feeds?

Heartfelt apologies about the swear filter. It was put in without the consent of Neil, Max or myself and apart from the D*lly filter I promise to remove them in the near filter. I'd welcome creative swearing.

YAY! Always happy to lower the tone... :D

My point about the two websites looking the same was mainly because the last time I looked at it , and it is much better than before btw, the picture across the middle was Max's van in a field if rape, ie, the same as ours. While you're welcome to any of my photographs I would have thought it'd be better to avoid using one anthers banner pictures.

Appreciated, and I did kinda wonder the same, but it was such a brilliant photo I wanted to use it. I did (a) ask Max first and he was cool with it, and (b) know you change your banners monthly, so it was only going to be the same for a couple of weeks. The other site serves a random image on each page load, so not everyone gets to see the same thing each time, anyway. Sorry for inadvertantly pissing you off! Won't do it again. :)

Hi Emu,

We don't spend c.£13K p/a on employing a full time membership secretary/external contractor like most other car clubs of a similar size! Simon is usually very quick at sending out membership packs - often it's only a few days, but as Neil notes, we do have lives as well, hence we make no guarantees about timings.

The membership works on a monthly cycle, tied in around the magazine mailing date. Each month the definitive membership list is produced by the MemSec and circulated to those who need to know, including myself and the magazine mailing house. The webmaster gets this about the third week of the month, and updates the web database accordingly. So if you join in the 4th week of the month - just after the list has gone out - unfortunately, you'll have a longer wait than someone who joined a couple of days beforehand.

Once you get your membership number through, email me with that and your full postal address and I'll happily manually add your details to the web database so you don't have to wait until the October update to register for the forum.

Kind regards,
Anna (2CVGB Webmaster)

I rather like the 2CVGB website, and I was using the forum until my computer threw a wobbler and deleted my biscuits (or something) and I couldn't sign in any more.

Hmm.. Do you think the 2CVGB Cookie Monster struck about the same time your membership lapsed, RT? Coincidence? Could be..! x
