Re: to sell or not to sell
Pretty much what others have said so far. It comes down to a few things:- 1.Space-If you have plenty of space to store it(preferably in a dry garage), then that's good. 2.Cost-Current debt(wanting to pay it off sooner), Annual Bills(MOT,Insurance,Road Tax) are they affordable?. 3.That old chestnut.....Safety-Can you put a seat in the back for Mrs.Tarquin and put Baby Tarquin in a rear facing child-seat in the front? Or just offload Baby Tarquin to Gran and Grandad Tarquin when using the van? Don't tell them I said that I think Paul(602) was asking a "how much is it worth" question, re:-his own Acad, can't remember the outcome of that, but I guess five grand is about right(but who am I to say?). Anyway, all the best Simon and t'was good to see you on Tuesday, been a long time.

Re: to sell or not to sell
the gerneral feeling is to keep the van. to adrian we cant afford to go to many meetings to camp anymore also not happy to take alyssa camping untill shes older. may put the van on e bay with a start bid of 5 k and see what happens. also prob look at the van and put a rear seat in it to see how difficult it would be to fit a rear seat in it. its not just the seat it would need 3 point seat belts as well the middle mounts arent a problem but the shoulder 1 might be. need to buy the turrets and weld them in place and then find 2 seat belts cto fit. if i cant do this to make transpoting my little girl saftly then the van will be sold

Re: to sell or not to sell
I reckon I'd be thinking along the lines of a minibus-style seat, with the belts built in, which will just bolt to the floor. Obviously you'd have to find a bit of floor strong enough though, or reinforce it.

Re: to sell or not to sell
Tarqs, Some of the kids seats only need a lap strap, go have a mooch around Halfords as they have a big range, and read the specs attatched to the seats. Or you may get lucky and find a knowledgable person working there. I got a Britax (from age 0 to 3 ish) one which works with three point or two point harnesses, just so I could use it in the back of the 2cv. May save you a bit of hassle ?

Having just sold mine (and got a good price for it too) - I would say keep it. What Ben says above is spot on. Mine's gone and I've no regrets, but so's the money. Keeping the car does two things, it keeps you happy for one, and it's also saving up for you as good ones will only go up in value. Like a nice painting, see it as an investment that you can also enjoy.
