Post Can anone help with French translation?
I was looking for parts for a 1972 Kawasaki when I came across this ad. What is he selling?

CADR CG 350 S2 KAWAI DE (04/02/1972)

Frame + engine (I think!). As ridden by slaughterhouse workers, judging by the photo.

Happens a lot here. Its possible to buy chassis plates for 2CV's with a Carte Gris. Not that I have ever done that you understand.

Yes that's exactly what he is selling, the bike frame plus a log book.

Surely not if it's frame & paperwork - it's just a stripped-down bike with a lot of bits missing.

If the frame & papers were separated, though, like the VIN plates that Paul definitely hasn't ever bought, that would be hooky, though.

In 2cv terms, it's refered to as a 'Deuche postable' ;)

There's nothing dodgy as such about selling a frame with documents, but it might bring up the question of who would need to buy such items.

Having said that I have bought a frame and V5 in the past, in order to register a bike I had built up from legitimately acquired parts. DVLA weren't in the slightest bit interested in giving me the V5 that went with the frame. Another bike I bought as ex stolen/recovered, the original frame number had been removed by whoever stole it, and the salvage company had given it a replacement. I could have re-registered it on a Q-plate, but it's easier to buy another frame.

We all know it goes on, and as long as nobody's getting done over, I don't really see the harm. Buying them to reregister a nicked car is another matter IMO, as is slapping a tax-free number on a D*lly.
