He already has mate, so there's no equally he might not about it. I simply want to know one way or the other then I can get on with it, that's fair enough innit? A minute's like an hour to me. Like I said I'll give it another day or so before re-listing.

Give it till 7 days after the auction: some people travel here, there and everywhere these days; maybe his mum fell under a bus; maybe he's stuck in Lybia; perhaps he's got the flu; whatever... at least if you give him 7 days then he'll have had a weekend to get his $h!t together.

Then, if he fails to respond, give him negative feedback. That will piddle in his chips with regard to future bidding. Speaking of which, what's his current feedback history? You'll get a good idea of whether he's a good ebayer or a tosspot.

^what he said^ -except a seller can't give negative feedback anymore, it was taken away as a response to 'feedback bribery' type thing, ie a seller that gets neg gives neg so could rip you off then hold back on the feedback and neg you back.

I find it remarkable he hasn't been in touch. I rang matey I bought that 3-fiddy off within minutes of stacking the car at the weekend to inform him I wouldn't be collecting it and paying him to relist it. And that was only £100 worth!

True, but O-N's listing only states "ideally in a couple of days". Open to interpretation??

Now I (and probably most of us) read that as a polite "definitely in a couple of days" but I think if you list it again specifically state "contact and/or payment must be made in x number of days, if you can't manage this do not bid before emailing me to arrange something else"

When I buy a book off ebay, which is quite often, I sometimes forget about it for a day or so before paying. I've never quite managed that with four grands worth of motor car. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life?

I have a sixth sense about people - inherited it from my mother. This guy is under the stairs I tell you. After the car is relisted and gone I'll get a "Hi -sorry I've been away' type bullshit e-mail. People crack me up. Some drink at the fount of knowledge, while others just gargle and spit.

If it were me I'd just put it right back on. You don't spend 4k on the internet and then not respond to it in an immediately. You just don't.

I guess you're right, but a)you can't credit everyone with common sense/manners and b) at least having it spelt out in big black letters at the top/bottom of a listing *might* discourage the odd berk.

Either way can you still report him to ebay?? I'd like to think you get some come-back even if it is just a smacked wrist from them.
