O-N, get one of these. (Scroll straight to 0:45). It may save you from rash purchases and a cuff round the ear from Mrs. N.

It's like something out of those paintings that you showed us a while back, O-N.

Yep, they're nice for a Volvo. I like curvy cars.

I see this thread is in danger of wandering off again so I'll just say a few kind words to the mods. I know I'm a grumpy old bastard sometimes, and I know this is a 2cv forum, and Max was right to point that out. If I do stray a little from time to time it's because I'm like that. Imagine if the I2F site was a big pub, then sat on this table was Old-Nail up to some mischief or other, that's how I view it. I will talk 2cv's fella's, but sometimes I wander. Sorry about that.

I do seem to get myself in bother wherever I go. I was just reminiscing today about the old days but even then my warped sense of humour got me into trouble. I once asked two old pensioners who were trying to come into a nightclub "Shouldn't you two be at home doing your knitting?".... and it caused a shit-storm! It was even on the 6 o'clock news, the security company had to move me.

They ended up being bloody celebrities. So if I do wander occasionally guys (like now I suppose) I can't help myself -

It has always seemed so pointless having rules if no one goes and breaks them. I feel that it is almost a duty to bend a few of them just to make the people that make them feel needed.....

Hmm, you're not kidding, O-N. I usually console myself, whenever I 'just' miss out, with the thought that the actual winner probably placed a bid waaaaay over his winning sum, so I had no chance anyways...

Yeah, it doesn't help me either.

It's an interesting one, tho' - the guy apparently spent £2.5k having a new chassis and panels fitted; really, our cars may be 'healthily' priced, but in most cases they are not overly-so.

These big Americans are something else. Absolutely stunning, almost overwhelming. Straight-6, twin barrel carbs, 3-speed 'box... Jeepers, no wonder the oil's running out.

Reading between the lines on that 2cv ad. Floors, chassis, inner and outer bulkhead replaced 2004, last MOT'd 2005 means it's a good un. Well worth the money to buy it and ship it up here. Women! Now you've set me off again...

Well the ole BlueBamboo is all cleaned up and ready for her new owner at the weekend. Given it wasn't spared a day of the winter it has cleaned up nicely, which bodes well for the future. I'm a bit miffed about the ebay listing though as I had specified and paid for supersize pic's, but didn't get them. All this gleaming-ness doesn't show up great in the ad.

Last weekend I had stuff to do but that didn't stop a guy coming to see it. He drove in it, looked in, around, and under, then asked "Where is this minor corrosion you spoke of?" To me because I'm nitpicking it was glaringly obvious. He couldn't see it. When I put my finger right on it and said "There!" he dismissed it with a wave as if to say 'don't be silly'. Even the chrome on the paperclips came up good.

Today looks as if the drive might actually dry out enough to get underneath and clean a little more. Unnecessary I know, but it's what I do. I'd like to wipe over the chassis and suspension components to finish the job properly. The last thing I need to do is to re-attach the new speedo cable which was slightly too small for the speedo head, causing it to flicker. I'll try to splay it with pliers so it fits, or failing that I need a small piece of packing for the tip. Can't thing what to make it of at the moment as it need only be a sliver. Wonder if solder would work?

If you go into your listing and click edit, them go into the HTML box in the text you can cut and paste your photobucket photos into the Ebay listing. All for the grand cost of precisely nothing...
