Post 4x4 Voisin
Marc Voisin, father of the 2cv 4x4 asked if I would be interested in fixing one of his costumer's 4x4. Problem with some badly made teeth. No worries despite never worked on 4x4, dived in today, interesting stuff.

Most likely his nephew Luke Palacios and Marc.
Marc's signature is stamped on the rear sandwich plates,

Getting to the end of the repair of the gear box.

It is a modified 2cv4 box, this gear ratio is 13:35 allowing the 2cv to climp mountains.

The rear wheels are locked in by this simple design.

Hard to read but it is a Voisin box front and rear.

I still can not believe it looks very very amateurish to me, I am a little dissapointed now; and I think my selfmade 4x4 system looks even nicer (my opinion) (it isn't painted yet)

Yes your internal bits look very nice.

I'm guessing here, I think the box I just finished may well be one of the very first done. The sandwich plate on the front box has Marc's name stamped.
Marc told me that his nephew Luke Palacios was involved in this box. So if the box is 30 years old, it has done very well despite the ''funny design''

Click to see Marc's name here

From your photos, your rear box is engaged all the time, with no option of disconnecting. Why is that?
Cheers

Neil uploaded this.
Depending how old these parts are, they look nearly the same. Not much has changed

Looks like there's a sliding collar for disconnecting at the front end of the shaft, but the prop's going to be being spun all the time by the rear.
