Post Re: Paint !
Sorry to hijack thread, but i thought it would be easier than starting a new thread for one question,
i cant remember if its been discussed, or if ive asked, but ive got a stainless vent flap, and want to paint it, what sort of primer should i use? Isnt it etch primer? Is it available from frauds? As they do nice bih cans of alpine white which is close as god dammit to my white!!

Thanks, and sorry or the hijack

Etch primer contains acid which microscopically eats into metal and scuffing gives a physical grip, so why not have both? Degrease it, scuff it, then etch prime it.

Do it first and let it dry hard before putting the rubber on, you can always touch up scratches later.
