Im wondering if we are looking at a beetle floorpan/chassis which the dyane body has been dropped over?

I may be way off

Be interesting to see, I'm not sure I understand why though, I'd have thought it'd be easier to achieve that result by channeling and narrowing the front track, that's effectively what etienne did on his dyane, and it looked much the same.

That's not to say i don't think it's cool, it's certainly that!

Indeed. It's not a car I'd own - I'd never be able to bump it up the kerb onto my drive :) - but it's about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I love rat cars.
