Correct.

Mind you, that doesn't explain how come I've never had a half-way decent quote from FJ, either... (definitely not pikeyville round here)

I use these guys - http://www.bishopcalway.co.uk
Small firm - friendly, helpful, flexible - they were one of the very few who'd go near the 4x4 and give occasional commuting use on the Acad.

When I first phoned for a quote, I phoned back later to take them up. They not only had the details handy, but they remembered me calling... If ever I have to make a claim, I'm expecting the service will be worth a couple of extra quid on the premium. (Although they were also about the cheapest for me)

Correct. No NCB earned or applied.

Yes, I know all that 8-) I live in a very quiet part of Worcester, actually, it's right on the edge of the city, with farmland behind the house, like TM2cvs says, it's not Pikeyville, they are big modern 4bedroom houses in a quiet cul-de-sac, so it should be cheaper

Take a look here to see how the insurance company views your postcode as a risk:

http://www.motorcarinsuranceuk.co.uk/po ... atings.php

No NCB earned or applied - also, can't be lost. Sounds strange, but when you have a normal car policy that is collecting NCB, it's sometime a little too much for call centre staff to understand that you an have 10 years NCB and still have made a claim last year that didn't affect your NCB.

I made two claims from FJ - one fault one non-fault. The fault one was much easier to handle - I just signed a form admitting responsibility. The non-fault was a real pain - the other person wouldn't own up to it. FJ provided a solicitor who eventually just threatened court action, at which point the third party coughed.

Apart from one crazy moment a few years back, I've used FJ for my 2cv insurance for about 10 years. Thinking back, my first ever insurance premium was on a 2cv with Co-Op - £500 ish IIRC when I was 17. 15 years ago though.

Blimey I'm in band E (EN postcode)

I decided to go for cheapest quote in June when i renewed I had 5 years NCB and i'm paying about £8 something a month think its about £115 a year perhaps.

Hopefully now i've reached the grand age of 25 i can renew with FJ and get classic car insurance and i can drive any car.

I was quite pleasantly surprised when I renewed this year, that changing from a PL35 postcode (band A), parked on private land, to a CV1 postcode (band E*), and parked on the road, made no difference whatsoever! :)

When I tried FJ they didn't even come back with a quote so paying over the odds (400ish with Kwik Fit) although I do get 10% discount at Kwik Fit. I think mum pays less than a ton with her civil service deal with Frizzell.

They've been really good recently in handling a non fault claim when a woman tried squeezing between mums car and the next car along (both in disabled spaces) needless to say she didn't fit. Exchanged details etc but now mums insurance co are taking the other party to court as she's now denying it, court documents have been issued! I mean, we've got photos of what happened. The other womans car with 2cv red paint on, we've the repairers report when it went in to fix and spray the rear nr side wing (again sorted out by frizzell without any fuss). I don't understand how she has the cheek to deny it now and is willing to go to court over it!
