Thanks for the welcome Russell, I'm actually a bit upset about Matt's DS going, it was such a beauty - I was at the national buying my engine parts and just couldn't bring myself to look at his Wart-Berk closely in case I got too sad.

Know what you mean about starting to rebuild engines instead of replacing, my one actually sheared the bottom head stud clean off, which was incredibly noisy, but still functioning up the motorway until the head oil feeder bolt was blown out and manifold bolts shattered! First time I've ever had quite such a catastrophic failure of a 2cv engine.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris,

Good to see you on the forum. Get that engine sorted quick smart so I can shunt the car round the field a la Slovenia. Then again I suppose I could still shunt your car around even if it did not have an engine!!

Hi there!
I'm Dom, 23, from Leicester, but have ben living near Nantes in France since I was 6.
Not yet a 2cv owner I'm afraid but I'm hoping to get my hands on one soon. I need a car to make it eaiser to find a job, but can't really buy one without having a job. A bit of a vicious circle really. :|
I'm Julian Ford's nephew, if anybody knows him. Needless to say, he is responsible for my interest in the old De-deuche.
I fancy getting into mechanics and bodywork a bit and a 2CV seems like a good way to start.
Lots to see on this forum!

Things are picking up a bit job-wise around here so fingers cross.

Got my eye on a Dyane on Le Bon Coin

2000€ Possibly a bit pricey but I want something that'll run nicely "straight out the box".

Hello/Bonjour

I am the proud owner of a 1988 Grey/Grey Charleston 2cv6 named 'Charlie' it is RHD but now French Registered.

I have also recently bought a French registered 1984 Acadiane which is in need a a little work on it, so I might be using the site quite a lot particularly the technical stuff. :?

If all goes well with the restoration I will use it for next years 8 Ball Rally around the UK! 8-)

Happy 2CVing

Hello Ralph, thanks for joining up!

I seem to vaguely recall that we might have been parked in the same German motorway services as you on the way to Czech?
