primer isn't waterproof, so offers no protection from the elements - not really a problem if you live in the south of France, but crap in a climate like ours!

That's the beauty of 2CVs though, they are so individual, like a blank canvas, you can do as you wish to your own car, almost as an extension of your personality! Rusting, like this:  Looks just as good as original cars like this:  Which in turn look just as cool as mad custom jobs:

omg, can i not strip my special down to bare metal, primer it, then gloss over it? ive never seen a 2cv in primer with little surface rust spots like that, i think im in love
