Don't forget to check (and adjust) the tracking, though.
Moving the end cap/castellated nut inwards to remove play will have caused the wheels to toe out more...

Bollox - I guessed that might be the outcome! Having said that the tyre wear was a little one sided so might be OK but will check.....

Got my sister visiting at the moment, and the weather has been beautiful. Even so, it has taken till today for me to get the 2CV out of the garage and take it out for a run around Unst, hood fully open, of course. Life's good.

Still pisses oil out like it's going out of fashion, though.

Took the carburetor apart for cleaning and adjusting. In doing so i found out the two feed of the airfilter were broken. So took that out to weld. Everything put back together again. It has a special 34 PICS 6 carb. This has 2 adjustment screws. If i can't get it right i will go over to a 34 PICS 10 that is easier adjustible... ;-)

In the morning went for a drive in the city with my 2CV and in the afternoon went for a drive in the country side with my Ami 6 :)

On Sunday, we went to a classic & hot-rod breakfast meeting at a local-ish brewery, where we parked next to something ten times the size! (6.6 litre Pontiac Bonneville, almost 18½ feet long)

As expected, it was the smallest-engined car in attendance and only one of three non-UK/US vehicles present (the others being the ubiquitous VW camper and a Spanish-built Lambretta scooter)

Hi Yeah, had a great trip combined with the Wye Knots' meeting Thanks :)
I've made a start on the rear bumper (easiest shape), though still haven't decided on the ultimate plan for them (I might just buy another car to put them on!) :D

All work on the 34 PICS 6 carburetor didn't help much. The 3 way adjustment is almost impossible to get right. So i took a spare carb apart, it is the same model 34 PICS 10 but a newer version which has only 2 adjustment screws. Did put it in the ultrasonic cleaner. It's a great peice of kit. The hot water with the cleaningfluid was completely black. All the brass bits (jets etc) i did in an jar of vinigar and put that in the ultrasonic too. It cleans up marvellous all dirt and oxydation is gone. Leave the parts to dry over night.
