Got my master cylinder in place and as the weather was unpredictable, buggered off to the club for lunch. :D

Spent the day at the Bedfordshire Classic Motor Show. Three A series, one lovely Traction Avant and this Peugeot Van which served up the best value Full English breakfast for a fiver I've ever had.

This beautiful Slough built Traction was found in a South African museum with a genuine 16,000 miles recorded.

Last used the 2CV two weeks ago. Journeyed down to the VW dealer in Aberdeen last Monday and bought myself a mk7 Golf. Very nice, and absolutely loaded with tech, but by yesterday I was feeling the effects of not having driven the Deuche for so long, so used it for the 4 mile commute to work. Lovely. :D

Drove it 250 miles. It was so good - perky, comfy, smooth. Such a brilliant car.

There is a lot of oil under the bonnet now though, oh dear. The drivers side brake is wet with oil. I need to get down to the car shop to get stuff for a manometer now I'm back.

Last night went to the BBC2CV meeting, a good turn out of cars and people :D

Today I used my car, roof down to go and collect an eBay purchase for a friend as it was local to me. The purchase was a pushchair, the lady who I was collecting it from had two small boys who as I arrived were screaming "MOM WOW LOOK AT HER CAR" when I got there, they were thrilled to see the 2CV and amazed. They both had a good look at it and insisted on coming outside to wave me off when I left. I think we have two 2CV converts there, the "older" lad, who was about 8 said "I love your car" :) Made me smile.

When I was driving back the local Police NHT had put a speed check up, I went past at 29mph they did a double take at the car as I trundled past, roof down smiling :D

good times!

Had to put on a new roof. The steel profile that connects the roof to the hinge plate was completely rusted. The middle part even desintegrated as i tried to knock the rust flakes of. So i did replace the roof and i have time to repair the old one. With a steel profile i recuperated from a roof that was vandalised.

Been enjoying the awesome weather withe roof off for a change - discovered a bit of a wobble and shimmy at speed and wanted to swap the tyres around so had it up on the Jack, greased everything and then found a fair amount of lateral movement on offside front - thought maybe wheel bearing or knackered drive shaft but both are quiet. When I held the steering arm it stopped so whipped off the end to look at the ball - looks fine with no rounding off so re greased it and then tightened the end cap up and very little movement and no shimmy on road - result!
