Spent the morning in that infamous metropolis called Lerwick, and arrived home around an hour ago. #andRelax

Post Re: My 2cv
Have spent a couple of hours with T-Cut and polish and the Deuche looks fabulous now. During the engine rebuild last week we noticed a hole in one of the pipes on the crossbox. Didn't have time to get another one from ECAS so had to leave it in place and drive home with a blowing exhaust. I had a great idea to fix the crossbox by using a jubilee clip around the pipe to cover the hole.I did the work earlier today and so far it's a great success.

Jonathan,
if you can clamp an offcut of *sheet metal onto the crossbox, layered with some delicious exhaust paste, that works even better.
( * tin can)
Short programme on the box about Unst this evening, the only bit I caught may have mentioned one of the largest employers on the island.
Something to do with fish... ;)

Nothing fishy about my quick fix Ken.The jubilee clip is absolutely fine and has done the perfect job. All exhaust gases now exit the tailpipe, so no need for exhaust putty and baked beans tin. Only needs to last till the first week of May when I'll be heading back down to Worcester for a few days. While I'm there I'll make a quick visit to Roy at ECAS to buy a new crossbox. I won't be using the Deuche for that particular journey.

The Deuche has never run and driven so beautifully as it has been over the last few days. Loving it.

My Citroën C25 based Hymer has passed two MoTs with a can strapped round the exhaust pipe. I'm still looking for a replacement (for the exhaust pipe, not the can!), but they're difficult to find.
