Was hoping to get the 2CV out and about this last week as it has been laid up since the first week of October and I shall be using it to head down to the English Midlands next weekend, but there's been lots of snowfall all week up here in the Shetland Islands. :-(

...and by the time that I reached home, my week's total was just over 670 miles

Car all fixed and back home this evening. Took it down to the ferry terminal at Belmont and back home with the hood fully open. God how I've missed 2CVing.

Drove the 60 miles plus two ferry crossings down to Lerwick this morning and I'm shortly popping over to the main ferry terminal for the overnight crossing to Aberdeen. 2CV has been behaving itself well so far. Not bad given it has hardly moved since early October. Heading down to Worcester via Durham and Leicester. Oh, and Birmingham.

Something to my early Dyane...

Very surprising, practically all nuts, bolts, suspension rod ends and even brake pipe unions opens easy. What a difference with my -74 Dyane, all mentioned was stuck very hard two decades ago, but not with that -68...

Hope to have this on, and maybe little also off, the road in this year..?

older cars seem to have been build with a better steel quality. I see the same with the 50s models. I have worked on several and no more than 2 or 3 nuts don't move... the rest is mostly ok?? An old french garage owner also told me, if you do welding on an old 2cv try to use old steel from old doors etc... if this is tru i don't know.... ;-)
