took the windscreen out of the 57 as it was leaking. I thought to kit around the thing and put it back in.....nope, some rust under the rubber. And 2 little holes. The drainholes were blocked, i managed to open one the other still to do. So some anti-rust proofing to do.

Bad luck :(

did the anti rust treatment this evening. Did open the holes in the side of the windscreen bay. The previous owner did put some sort of kit in there but didn't cover up the holes completely so water could run in the front door pillars....

Windscreen bay is put back in paint. So after driing and some kit and tape work the glass can get back in soon i hope...
I used the time to put back the inner vent tin and demister back in the right color grey. The previous owner had painted all the interior parts in ivory like the rest of the car.

Solved a clunk which was getting quite bad over certain speed bumps, just the pinch bolt was loose. The car feels really nice now, I think it might have been loose for a while.

Rust repairs. Well, no metalwork, just grinding and then lots of Bilt Hamber rust converter followed by copious POR15. It's not pretty but it'll slow it right down. The rear sweep on one side is pretty rusty really, mostly due to the quarter light on that side leaking I think. Wish I'd realised sooner, but hey ho.

This car was showroom not so long ago, but I'm getting the hang of it having 'patina' now so it's OK, lol..

The 57 got it's windscreen put back in. A messy job with that black window kit... But it looks nice again with it's vent tins painted in the original grey tone. I only have to look again at a few screws that won't go in very well. Did put copper grease on all screws.

More adventures with POR15. I'm sure this car will weigh more when I'm finished. Or will I just be putting it back to its original weight, haha :-)

I have a nice little Ecas package to pick up too, funny how exciting car parts can be. It's only spray paint, window catches and some other bits and bobs though. I bought the grey painted catches, they looked so nice.
