Big massive thanks to Jon 'Spanners' for sorting out the 2CV. Replaced the carburettor for one with far less mileage and wear, and redone the ignition timing which was rather retarded. Came back to Worcester via the M42 and the car didn't drop below 61mph on the very steep Hopwood bank-usually drops to 54/55mph. Runs much more smoothly and ticks over lovely too. All ready to head back to Shetland on Tuesday/Wednesday. Happy chappy I am. :D

Put seam sealer on the stitching on my roof. Should stop the slight leak.
And gave the beast a wipe down. Garage again tomorrow for kingpin oddness.

This might do the trick...

Mind you, a garage that's familiar with A series Citroens should have spotted that the fit of the pin in the arm was nowhere near tight enough.

Thanks Ken. Very experienced 2cv guy he is so I'm surprised too.
Is the hole being too loose the reason for sure then?
In case it matters, this last kingpin change will have been the third set installed.

Snapped the clutch cable the other day. Scarred by my previous 7 hour wait for the AA, I decided to improvise:
