Forgive me for not being able to tell the difference, but is that an Ami steering wheel, or a DS one joined to a 2cv column? I know someone else who was looking for a way to fit a DS column to his car but hasn't worked out how to do it yet.

Only Ami 8/super have joints... This type of steering wheel is used up to 73, then the foamwheel was fitted....

I've come down to Lerwick for the day, and the Deuche isn't very well. I've had it coughing and spluttering on the journey down. The fuel filter is showing half empty. Not sure if it is fuel related, but the ignition seems okay. It starts and doesn't cut out. Just loss of power on the move.

mixture to poor, check also little filter in the carb. Is your fuel pump working enough?

Air filter is dirty which probably doesn't help. Also had some weeping of fuel at the point where the pipe attaches to the carb. Now fixed with a clip. Have used it today and it's been fine. It was a bit of a nightmare on the drive home yesterday though. Kept losing power on the last leg of the journey from the ferry to my house, an 8 mile drive which saw it cut out around 5 times.

Nice wet journey back from Southwold today - why does it leak like a sieve even though it has new wiper spindles anyone?
Also why is it that wankers in white vans pull out in front of you asuming your doing about 30mph when you are actually closing at 60 and then drive at about 40 and behave like cunts?

are you sure it is the wiperspindles that leak and not the windscreen rubber or the vent rubber?

Hi, one 2cv I bought leaked badly in rain so I replaced the wiper spindles but the leak continued. The vent flap was missing and the aperture had a thin metal plate badly glued in place, so I put a new flap on....still leaked.

Looking at the windscreen rubber and carefully poking underneath it I realized that's where the leak was. I removed the windscreen and found rust had eaten holes through both bottom corners of the screen frame.

Bit of anti-rust solution, small amount of filler, leak fixed.

ps. Driving around for a few days in some rain without the vent fitted, no water came into the car. The bonnet shape seems to keep rain away from the vent when you're on the move.
