Also, I managed to get fifty copper street lamps in it earlier. I am rather enjoying 2cv ownership again, been too long since I've had one.

Us aussies appreciate you keeping this an international forum Russ and posting your pics up the correct way up for us, it's so bloody difficult trying to post a reply with the laptop upside down...

Bizarrely, the attachment preview in the post is upside down for me, but if I click on it and open the attachment, it 's the right way up!

I used Photobucket this time, so the pictures should be the right way up...

Right, what are the opinions on this?

I've used standard 2cv front seatbelts. What's not in the photo's is a seam welded 3mm plate, 100mm square on the inner wings to mount the reel on. I've sat in it, and my ten year old has sat in it and the belt appears to fit perfectly. I have one concern and that's the same concern I have about the standard front seatbelts, which is that The top bolt head is prominent and at head height so as and when somebody hits the car in the side the only thing to stop the occupants heads is a bolt head sticking out. I can't see a solution which avoids that unfortunately.

I've just re-read this post and I realise what a mess the car looks, I'm intending on finishing all the little welding jobs and then buying a couple of litres of paint to tart it all up.

If the bracket (which looks mighty strong) was placed lower down the roof line the bolt would be behind the occupant out of harms way or perhaps the belt is not long enough to do that.
