My objections are from a stability/safety/taste point of view.

You lot are hypocrites. You often say 'it's your car do what you like with it' etc.

You have no objections to lowering, channelling, fitting wide wheels, putting in modern audio systems, spoilers, etc, all of which, I think, are a waste of time on a 2cv, but hey they're your cars so you can do what you like. ;)

"Cliquey, elitist, nonsense"

It's what we pride ourselves on.

I don't particularly like it but I'm impressed by the fact that a solution has been thought out and then executed, without too much being detracted from the original.
I'd need to see it 'in the metal' before I could whole-heartedly dismiss it, but from just those two pictures, I'd have to say that that rear wing needs tidying - at least paint it the same colour? - and it would have been nice for it to have a little shape as a nod to the original, instead of that flat panel.
I guess that it shows the real versatility of the 2CV's design, as there can't be many other cars that you could do this with?

Whats with that then...
Why the widening at the rear? Come on Chris. Find out.

They had 2 children. Then they had three. Took a LOT of work and many headaches on Daras' part.

Or use condoms.

Thing is, why can't people just accept the limits of a 2cv.
I have three children / so I'm going to make it wider and have 3 seats in the back.
My car's slow / so I want a bigger engine.
It doesn't float / so I'm going to install ballast tanks.

If you want the above, get one of these:

If you want a 2cv, they're small, slow and totally fit for the purpose they were designed for. Deal with it.

These have a habit of sinking in Liverpook docks however!

Well Mark, from my brief viewing at the time I took the pics I can report that it's very well done but looking a little tired now and, yes, I think something more rounded for the wings would have been nice, even fooling many into thinking it was standard perhaps. Engine sounded sweet though.
