Had a nightmare ealier when the steering lock wouldnt come off put the key in and it wouldnt turn what so ever i wiggled it pushed it in and out and it just wouldnt happen in all seriousness though, before you tell me to wiggle the wheel done all that, gently tapped the steering lock, no luck then suddenly it pinged and went, i havent managed and dont want to engage the steering lock just incase! how easy and should i remove the steering lock to prevent this? Has anyone else had this problem and over come it by doing...? thanks |

take the lock collar off the column you need a 5mm allen key and you can get to the 2 allen bolts through the slot under the casting you may have to cut the tin dust cover off first I never have the lock on the column as the locks are just waiting to fail, no lock and you can hot wire it and drive it.
