Hi all,
i have a split boot on my driveshaft.Just wondering how quck do i need to get it fixed.

sew it with cotton and needle till the new one arrives in the post ;)

There was a small split in one of mine. I cleaned it thoroughly, roughened the surface with fine wet & dry, then sealed with Evostik metal bond which stays flexible. It has lasted over a year so far. Passed MOT no problem.

Nice tip, Knightley! Did you butt-join the edges or overlap them slightly? Does Evostik metal bond have a specific name, or is it just that? Ta.

I put on a blob which covered the split (butt join), so it looks like a small grey slug on the boot. You could put a bit of superglue in the slit first. I can't remember if I did that. (I have in the past on previous cars and it held)

It is called Evostik Liquid Metal.

matt damper put a bycycle patch on my boot, as it had a hole in it, and wanted to stop dirt getting in !

I think it's not to prevent dirt getting in it, but keeping the grease in..
