on the weekend my accelerator pedal broke off at the hinge and i found the orginal hinge had been replaced years ago by a comercial leaf hinge screwed to the floor.
however looking for the orginal fittings its not really clear how the original hinge works
Can anyone give me an explanation on how the orignal hinge fits together?

Re: accelerator pedal hinge fittings
I assume you're talking about an organ pedal car?
If so there is a metal loop welded to the floor and a hard rubber insert in the pedal that engages in it. There is also a rubber block for the push rod ball.
thanks, yes, mine is an organ pedal car with the 260mm pedal.
however, the rubber fittings have been replaced by a comercial leaf spring.
when i have some daylight on the weekend i will remove the remainder of the leaf spring from where it was screwed onto the floor panel. until then im not sure if the metal loop welded to the floor is still there.
