Post Engine,
sorry abuot the blankish thread title but didnt really know what to right,

now ive got a dyane engine,
my plans are to see if it runs, (hence shopping list in flea market)
after seeing if the engine will run, (if it runs ok then great, if not, then oh well) my plan is to strip the engine down and learn what is what, and on re assemble put new pistons and barrels in etc

my reason for this post, is what else whould i be looking to do,
i read a minute ago about doing the valves while your there... tell me more sir's...

im after suggestions, not abuse, arguments, just advice and suggestions please :D

thank you :D

Post Re: Engine,
dave,
going to try run it up first, see if it sounds ok, it has a squeeky valve, and turns over, so will mostly be running it up before hand, or trying......

i dont know how far to strip it down, im hoping for some pointers.... and after that, break out mr haynes manual and shut the door and get on with it!!!!!!!!!!

Post Re: Engine,
If the crank is ok,(no knocking) then just fit new barrels and pistons, new oil pump, crank seals and strip heads.Lap the valves in, new valve stem seals etc. and that should sort it.Easy peasy

Why not just stuff it into your car one Friday evening and see if it makes noises?
