The window catches on my 2cv are slightly loose on the fixing pin causing the window to rattle. Is there a quick and easy remedy to this or do I have to replace them Cheers Andy (Attached pic of the new love of my life, landrover is getting jealous not to mention the wife) |

New ones will do it,its probably wear on that pin and the actual tab worn away. http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/window-cl ... -1603.html (other suppliers are available, probably) |

I thought he meant these ![]() If so, it may be possible to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to bend the metal rod a little bit to make a tighter contact. |

many are like that - the repo ones are "carp" you may find that the square hole in the door has corroded or been bent outward by a ham fisted previous owner, dressing it up helps the expandong lugs bite. Sean |

andyx wrote: Next question then how do I remove the widow catch from the door does it just lever off? A self-tapper into the pin in the middle, pull that out, then the catch just comes out. I'll second Sean's comment about the cheap repro ones - we needed to buy one at last year's French Nat'l. Everybody was selling for about the same price - €3-4ish. We bought one - and it wouldn't even stay in the hole in the door. That went back sharpish. All were the cheapies. One of the UK suppliers have some of the cheapies - which they list primarily to educate buyers as to the difference. They won't actually sell you one unless you insist. And quite right too... Pay the extra for the better quality ones. |

Job done. Self tapper trick worked a treat and Sean you were spot on the edges of the hole just needed dressing back. I now have a rattle free window, thank you every body Andy |
