Post led brake lights
grumble grumble grumble....

so i ordered some on ebay, arrived fine etc, went to fit them, and they dont fit

there the right fitting, but where the light holder bevels out, you cant push the bulb in far enough because of the led's to push and twist to lock it in,
any bright ideas as to how i can tell it it is going to fit, ie take light fitting apart etc????

any help appriciated, these set me back £9 for the pair and i want to use them!!

Yep thats a problem with the light holder on a 2cv.

In fairness james, LEDs are more suited to sidelights. I have some led bulbs that may fit.

Since when are LEDs brighter than a conventional bulb? The replacement bulbs covered in LEDs still can't match the light output of a conventional bulb.

I find that LED lights on modern cars(especially BMWs,Audis,Mercs)are far too bright, it can be quite uncomfortable being sat behind one of those on a dark road, conventional bulbs are far better and safer imo.

PS:-It's the same with these expensive gay cars that run xenon headlamps, they just cause discomfort for other road uses, so are dangerous.

How slow do you think an incandescent bulb lights up compared to a led?

That's a different issue though; those have a large number of LEDs in one light unit. The after market bulbs that directly replace a conventional bulb struggle to match an incandescent bulb, never mind exceed, their light output. It is simply because you can't cram enough LEDs onto the conventional light bulb base.
