Right I'm bored of having a row of 8 computer speakers plugged into an overloaded usb/fag lighter adaptor so I'm gonna fit a proper stereo and make up a parcel shelf or something full of speakers. I know this isn't directly linked to 2cvs but due to my general twattishness I know nowt about fitting one and was wondering if anyone can recommend a certain unit that isn't a bastard to fit... All the ones I've looked at havea huge universal plug thing coming out the back and I don't like the look of them ![]() J |

If you wish you can just cut the wires off before they go into the big plug, and connect longer wires to them using bullet connectors, and run them to a power source/earth etc. You'll invalidate any warranty by doing this though. |

If you really want a 'stereo' with only a 12v and earth connectors then you'll need something off of the '70s with a built in speaker. Like this. If however you want to make use of the speakers you've put in the parcel shelf, then you'll need another pair of wires for each channel(side). Assuming you're using a head unit(bit in the dashboard with the Knobs on), which was built in the last ten years, then it will come with a universal multi plug on the back, and you'll need a thing like this to wire it up. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-STEREO-MALE-I ... 450wt_1199 They're also available in any halfrauds type place, or by cutting one out of any modern car in the local scrapyard. They're not as scary as they look, you don't need to use all the wires, just the ones you want |

What Joolz said wire in a pair standard stereo ISO plug's. That way you can wire it up once and plug in pretty much any modern head unit. Also quite good if you want to whip the stereo out when you park in the bronx to stop thiefting toe rags pinching it. |
